Asian markets are mostly higher on Thursday, following the mixed cues from Wall Street overnight, boosted by technology shares which mirrored their peers on tech-heavy Nasdaq amid optimism over AI-driven demand. Concerns remain about a re-escalation in the Middle East conflict after the U.S. and Iran exchanged fresh strikes, with US President Donald Trump declaring the U.S.-Iran ceasefire “over.” Asian markets closed mostly lower on Wednesday.

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s over,” Trump told reporters at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, calling negotiations with Iran a “waste of time.” He later said the U.S. will “very probably” attack Iran “hard again tonight.”
