Canada is set to compete with the U.S., as well as France, for a deal to build what would be Poland\u2019s second nuclear power plant . <\/p>\n<p> The government in Warsaw earlier chose U.S. firms Westinghouse Electric Co. and Bechtel Group Inc. to construct Poland\u2019s first nuclear facility as the country seeks to ween itself off dirty and expensive coal power. Washington has said it expects to win further nuclear contracts in Poland, a NATO ally which has bought jets and other military gear from the U.S. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe conversation is very positive and there\u2019s a lot of motivation,\u201d Sidhu told Bloomberg News about the nuclear energy talks during a visit to Poland. \u201cI\u2019m very optimistic.\u201d <\/p>\n<p> Canada can offer a stable supply of uranium and is looking to help with financing the nuclear project, Sidhu said after speaking with Poland\u2019s energy and finance ministers.
