U.S.-Iran tensions and continued uncertainty about the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz hurt as well. Investors digested a somewhat soft inflation data that helped raise hopes the Fed will not hike interest rates for now. <\/p>\n<p class=\"fade-paragraph\">The pan European Stoxx 600 ended down by 0.16%. The UK&#8217;s FTSE 100, Germany&#8217;s DAX and France&#8217;s CAC 40 closed lower by 0.1%, 0.23% and 0.46%, respectively.
