The Straits Times Index now rests just beneath the 4,950-point plateau although it may run out of steam on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fade-paragraph\">The global forecast for the Asian <span class=\"landLinks\">markets<\/span> is weak on surging oil prices and weakness among technology stocks.
