The Straits Times Index now rests just beneath the 4,980-point plateau although it may tick higher again on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fade-paragraph\">The global forecast for the Asian <span class=\"landLinks\">markets<\/span> comes on cautious optimism for easing hostilities in the Middle East.
