President Donald Trump ramped up his trade war last week with 25-per-cent duties on all autos made outside of the United States \u2014 and that\u2019s before the tariffs he has promised to reveal Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Mark Carney called the tariffs a \u201cdirect attack\u201d on Canada but held off on retaliation. On Friday in what Trump described as a \u201cproductive talk\u201d the two agreed that trade negotiations would resume after the Canadian election.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
