{"id":14499,"date":"2021-09-30T11:01:23","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T11:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/09\/30\/sensex-nifty-extend-losses-for-third-day-2\/"},"modified":"2021-09-30T11:01:23","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T11:01:23","slug":"sensex-nifty-extend-losses-for-third-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/09\/30\/sensex-nifty-extend-losses-for-third-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Sensex, Nifty Extend Losses For Third Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \n<\/p>\n<div id=\"ctl00_CPI_dvBody\">\n<p> Indian shares ended lower for the third day running on Thursday as traders adjusted their portfolios amid the expiry of F&amp;O September series contracts.<\/p>\n<p>Mixed global cues and caution ahead of infrastructure output data for August due out later in the day also weighed on <span class=\"landLinks\">markets<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>Data showed earlier in the day that factory activity in China, the world&#8217;s second-largest <span class=\"landLinks\">economy<\/span>, contracted in September for the first time in the pandemic era.<\/p>\n<p>The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex ended the session down 286.91 points, or 0.48 percent, at 59,126.36, while the broader NSE Nifty index dropped 93.15 points, or 0.53 percent, to settle at 17,618.15.<\/p>\n<p>Eicher Motors, Axis Bank, Shree Cement, Asian Paints and Power Grid Corp fell 2-3 percent in the Nifty pack, while Bajaj twins &#8211; Bajaj Finance and Bajaj FinServ &#8211; ended up more than 2 percent each. <\/p>\n<p>Tata Motors rose over 1 percent after reports that the company is regaining lost ground in its domestic <span class=\"landLinks\">business<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>Zee Entertainment Enterprises fell nearly 2 percent as Invesco Developing Markets Fund along with OFI Global China Fund moved the National Company Law Tribunal against the company for not calling an extraordinary general meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Persistent Systems shares soared 5.1 percent.
