{"id":13477,"date":"2021-09-01T11:06:14","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T11:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/09\/01\/sensex-nifty-give-up-early-gains-to-end-lower\/"},"modified":"2021-09-01T11:06:14","modified_gmt":"2021-09-01T11:06:14","slug":"sensex-nifty-give-up-early-gains-to-end-lower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/09\/01\/sensex-nifty-give-up-early-gains-to-end-lower\/","title":{"rendered":"Sensex, Nifty Give Up Early Gains To End Lower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> \n<\/p>\n<div id=\"ctl00_CPI_dvBody\">\n<p> Indian shares ended a tad lower on Wednesday, with metals and information <span class=\"landLinks\">technology<\/span> companies pacing the declines. <\/p>\n<p>After a strong opening on the back of positive GDP data, key benchmark indexes failed to hold onto their early gains due to profit booking at higher levels following a three-day record-breaking streak.<\/p>\n<p>Weak auto sales figures reported by Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra due to electronic components shortage also weighed on sentiment. <\/p>\n<p>The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex ended the session down 214.18 points or 0.37 percent, at 57,338.21, while the broader NSE Nifty index dropped 55.95 points, or 0.33 percent, to 17,076.25.<\/p>\n<p>Bajaj FinServ, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Cipla and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra fell 2-3 percent in the Nifty pack. Among the prominent gainers, Nestle India, SBI Life, Tata Motors and Asian Paints climbed 2-3 percent. <\/p>\n<p>BHEL jumped 3.9 percent on winning an order worth Rs 10,800 crore from NPCIL.<\/p>\n<p>Mastek soared 5.1 percent.
