{"id":11728,"date":"2021-07-12T12:08:49","date_gmt":"2021-07-12T12:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/07\/12\/wall-street-may-open-on-negative-note\/"},"modified":"2021-07-12T12:08:49","modified_gmt":"2021-07-12T12:08:49","slug":"wall-street-may-open-on-negative-note","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pantheregroup.com\/2021\/07\/12\/wall-street-may-open-on-negative-note\/","title":{"rendered":"Wall Street May Open On Negative Note"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align:center\"><\/div><p> \n<\/p>\n<div id=\"ctl00_CPI_dvBody\">\n<p> Lower U.S. index futures amid concerns over the possible impact of surging <span class=\"landLinks\">coronavirus<\/span> variants on the global <span class=\"landLinks\">economy<\/span> point to a weak start on Wall Street Monday morning. <\/p>\n<p>Investors will be looking ahead to the earnings season, data on inflation, and the Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell&#8217;s testimony before Congress on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and PepsiCo are scheduled to announce their quarterly earnings on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>A few other top names, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, United Health and BlackRock will be reporting their quarterly earnings later in the week.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. stocks ended sharply higher on Friday as traders continued to bet on optimism about strong economic recovery despite a surge in new variants of the coronavirus.
