The Thai stock market headed south again on Friday, one day after ending the three-day slide in which it had fallen more than a dozen points or 0.7 percent. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,610-point plateau although it’s expected to move higher again on Monday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic on an improved outlook for interest rates, although erratic tensions in the Middle East may limit the upside. The European and U.S. markets were up and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead.
