The UK stock market’s benchmark index FTSE 100 was hovering around the flat line about half an hour before noon on Wednesday with investors digesting the nation’s inflation data while looking ahead to monetary policy announcements from the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, and the signing of the Iran-US peace deal.
The Bank of England is set to announce its policy decision on June 18. The BoE is widely expected to hold the rate at 3.75%, the lowest since June 2023. Previously, the bank had reduced the rate by 25 basis points each in August and November 2025.
