A resort chain in
Las Vegas
is launching a promotion that would take
Canadian dollars
at par at a time when many
Canadian travellers
are refusing to venture to the United States.
Circa Resort & Casino
said its three
downtown Las Vegas hotels
, including the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, will offer the
“at par” deal
to eligible Canadians ahead of peak summer travel through to Aug. 31.
The promotion is being introduced “at a time when exchange rates have made
U.S. travel
significantly more expensive for Canadians,” it said.
“The initiative gives all Canadian travellers and locals an immediate financial advantage, eliminating conversion stress and reinforcing downtown Las Vegas as a
guest-first destination
built on value, accessibility and fairness,” a Jan. 22 press release said.
The program will give Canadian guests aged 21 and older US$1 in value for every Canadian dollar spent, regardless of daily exchange rates, for certain casino, hotel and beverage offerings.
Visitors don’t need to be staying at Circa, the D or Golden Gate to be eligible for the deal.
They may redeem up to $500 CAD in slot promotional play, treated at full U.S. dollar value, at Circa hotels’ Club One casinos by presenting a valid Canadian passport or government-issued ID.
Canadians staying at one of Circa’s hotels will receive the “at par” rate at check-iKen, paying the same amount shown in U.S. dollars but charged directly in Canadian dollars with no exchange rate applied.
The promotion also extends to select bar venues at the hotels, including BarCanada at the D Las Vegas, a hockey-forward sports bar paying tribute to Canada. Eligible Canadians may redeem “at par” beverage pricing multiple times per visit upon verification of Canadian identification.
